Interlibrary loans and article requests
Books and articles which are not in the library collection can be requested from other libraries.
What can be requested?
Material related to your work or studies can be requested. Course books, reference books and complete issues of journals cannot be requested.
Who can request articles and books?
The service is available for students and staff at the University of Skövde. Students from other universities may also use the service.
How do I request a book or copy of a journal article?
Contact the library information desk or send an e-mail. Students must pay for articles when ordering. Give as many details as possible about the publication: Title, journal title, author/editor, year, volume, number, pages.
User-initiated interlibrary loans in LIBRIS
If you are registered in our library system you can order interlibrary loans directly in LIBRIS, the joint catalogue of the Swedish academic and research libraries. First you need to create a user account. This is a service for students and staff at the University of Skövde only.
Interlibrary loans and article requests are free of charge for staff at the university. For students:
Books: Free within the Nordic countries. Outside the Nordic countries: 100 SEK
Articles: Within the Nordic countries and Germany: 40 SEK/article. Outside the Nordic countries: 100 SEK/article.
We will inform you before ordering from libraries outside the Nordic countries.

How long does it take for the book or article to arrive?
We cannot guarantee the time of arrival for your request, expect it to take at least one week. Books might not be available right away at the other library, in that case we will try to reserve it.
Do I get a message when I can collect my book/article?
You will be notified by e-mail (or ordinary mail) when a book/article has arrived for you. Books can be collected at the information desk. Articles requested by staff will be sent to their workplace. Articles requested by students can be collected by the library entrance (if payed) or at the information desk.

Borrowing regulations for interlibrary loans
The loan period is set by the lending library. If you need to renew your loan please contact the library. We will inform you about a new due date or if your loan is not possible to renew. There will be a recall notice when the ILL item is overdue. If the loan is not returned there will be a charge corresponding to the cost for the library to compensate the lending library including an administrative fee.
