On 7 July a representative from the ORIOS project participated in a workshop which was organised as part of an initiative in the Digital Agenda for Europe. The workshop addressed building open ICT systems by making better use of standards in public procurement and was organised by PwC and the European Commission in Brussels. Several presenters stressed the importance of using open standards for avoiding lock-in for the public sector in Europe and the event provided extensive opportunities for networking and informal discussions.
