First admission round (for international students)
Autumn 2025: 15 October 2024 – 15 January 2025
Spring 2026: 2 June 2025 – 15 August 2025
Second admisson round
The second admission round is for students living in Sweden. However, applicants with citizenship in the EU/EEA area may also apply during the second admission round. For more information, please contact study@his.se.
Non-EU/EEA applicants who require a residence permit should not apply during the second admission round because there is not enough time to apply for residence permit for studies/visa. Non-EU/EEA applicants must apply during the first admission round.

What are the entry requirements for master's programmes?
The University of Skövde offers both one and two-year master's programmes. The programmes are designed and open for applications from students with a bachelor's degree equivalent to a Swedish kandidatexamen from an internationally recognised university. Each master’s programme has specific entry requirements.

However, we also consider applications from students currently on their final year. Students in their final year of bachelor’s studies may be conditionally admitted and must present complete grade transcripts and official diploma by the start of the semester at our university. We suggest that you upload your documents at Universityadmissions.se as soon as you receive them so that they are registered in the admissions system when you arrive in Sweden (a prerequisite for successful registration).
What are the entry requirements for bachelor's programmes?

What is the English language requirement?
In order to meet the English requirement, you must have studied the equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
Evaluation of English proficiency is done by Universityadmissions.se. All applicants can meet the requirement with the required score on an internationally recognised English test. However, upper secondary and university studies in some countries may also meet the requirement. How do I receive my admission results?
Applicants who have submitted their application online will see their admission results at universityadmissions.se.
Log in to your account and go to 'Application'.
Your notification of Selection Results will be available as a printable pdf document at Universityadmissions.se. You can print out the document if you must provide a copy of your official results, for example when applying for a resident permit with the Swedish Migration Agency or renting an apartment.
Do I have to pay tuition fees?
Students with citizenship in countries not within the EU/EEA or Switzerland are required to pay application and tuition fees for university studies in Sweden. Please consult University Admissions to find out more about application and tuition fees, and if you are required to pay them.
Students Liable for Tuition Fees
- Students from countries outside the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA).
- Students studying at a basic (bachelor) or advanced (master) level.
The University of Skövde offers some scholarships to master's students that cover 50% of the tuition fee.
