This course provides an introduction to the field of positive psychology, a new field of science that studies happiness, subjective well-being, human strengths and virtues and positive states of consciousness. Practical applications of positive psychology aim to increase the subjective quality of life, life satisfaction and the development of character strengths as well as the realization of one’s full potential. Positive psychology techniques can be used for strengthening positive mental health and preventing negative states of consciousness. This course is designed to explore this new and rapidly growing area, its central concepts, research behind the concepts as well as practical exercises that enhance well-being.
