Companies and organizations that have many interactions with clients or the environment also generate lots of data about these interactions. This raises the opportunity learn from this data. To do so, the data needs to be stored in a way suitable for better
understanding the business and its environment. A data warehouse (DW) supports this needs by integrating and summarizing data from various sources in a format that facilitates decision making. This function has made data warehouse system a cornerstone of business intelligence (BI) solutions.
This course introduces into the foundations and methods used in data warehousing and business intelligence. Practical exercises show how to use DW and BI tools to extract insights from vast amounts of data.
