The course Introduction to Game Design conveys what it means to create games from the perspective of a game designer. It covers the theory of game design with a primary focus on game mechanics and principles such as, e.g., game goals, player choice, balance, uncertainty and player interaction. Students learn to describe and build basic game concepts and prototypes, to document their work and to analyze games.
