Students in the Intelligent Automation Master's Programme can pursue a double degree through a partnership with a university in Paris. Eliot Lambret, currently in Skövde for his second year, highlights how the programme blends practical experience with international perspectives in robotics and automation — something he believes paves the way for global career opportunities.
Eliot Lambret is studying his final year at the Master’s programme, focusing on robotics, manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and automation technologies.
Students at the Intelligent Automation - Master's Programme have the option to study a double degree version of the programme. This is a collaboration between the University of Skövde and the Leonard de Vinci Graduate School of Engineering in Paris, France. The students study their first year in Paris and the second year in Skövde.
Eliot Lambret from France is currently in Skövde, studying his final year at the Master’s programme, focusing on robotics, manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and automation technologies.
“Automation and robotics are at the heart of modern industry and innovation, and I believe they will continue to shape the future in significant ways,” he says.
Global career opportunities
The students get Master’s degrees in both Virtual Product Realization, and Industry & Robotics, and earn diplomas from both universities. Eliot is pursuing the double degree because it allows him to gain an international perspective.
“An international perspective is valuable in the field of automation and robotics. It provides a broader academic experience and enhances my qualifications for global career opportunities. It’s very enriching to experience different educational systems, teaching methods, and cultural perspectives. It challenges me to adapt and broadens my understanding of the field, especially in collaborative, international settings.”
When it comes to Eliot’s impression of the Swedish parts of the education, he says he is impressed by the practical approach and emphasis on group work. The focus on problem-solving and real-world applications complements his previous studies very well.
“One of my best experiences has been working on hands-on projects with peers from different backgrounds. These collaborations have been incredibly rewarding and have taught me to approach challenges creatively and efficiently.”
What is your impression of Sweden and Skövde?
“Sweden has a very organised and calm environment, which is great for studying. Skövde is a small but welcoming city, with beautiful nature and a strong sense of community. The biggest culture shock was how early the sun sets during winter. Also, the informal relationship between students and professors surprised me — in a good way!”
Did you have any prejudice about Sweden that turned out to be true or false?
“One prejudice I had was that Swedish people might be distant, but I found them very kind and helpful once you get to know them. The idea that Swedes value sustainability and environmental awareness is definitely true.”
What are your plans and hopes after graduation?
“After graduation, I hope to work in an innovative company where I can contribute to the advancement of automation and robotics. I’m also open to exploring entrepreneurial opportunities in the future.”
