PICS – Enhanced Information Security Through Collaboration

PICS (Privacy, Information security, and CyberSecurity) is a collaboration platform for privacy, information security, and cybersecurity at the University of Skövde. By combining research with practical application, we can jointly address the challenges faced by society and your organisation.

      What is information security?

Information security is about protecting your information from unauthorised access, modification, or destruction. It also includes ensuring accuracy and availability, effective risk and crisis management, and protection against both external and internal threats. This can involve hackers, phishing, ransomware, or accidental user errors. Achieving this requires a combination of administrative policies and guidelines such as management systems, technical safeguards like firewalls and encryption, and physical security measures such as perimeter and fire protection.

By developing a long-term strategy for information security, your organisation can ensure that its most critical assets remain protected and secure.

Why collaborate in the areas of privacy, information security, and cybersecurity?

Collaboration allows you to benefit from the University’s extensive expertise in the field. Our researchers and students continuously develop new methods and techniques to protect individuals and organisations from cyber threats and enhance information security.

      Education in information security

Through collaboration, you gain access to the latest research and the most effective strategies for privacy, information security, and cybersecurity. We can help you manage potential risks, improve your information security, and protect business-critical data and infrastructures.

We also offer tailored training courses, seminars, workshops, and a research programme in cybersecurity to help you and your employees enhance their expertise and strengthen your organisation’s defence against cyberattacks and cyber threats.
