Hjärnkoll is a national organization whose work aims to increase knowledge about and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues. The core of its activities is ambassadors who give lectures and foster discussions on the subject. This project aims to understand the motivations of young ambassadors and their experiences of ambassadorship in middle and high schools.
A further goal is to explore how young ambassadors as storytellers, and their stories, serve as tools to foster understanding of mental health among young people and inspire hope in those suffering from mental health challenges.
The objective is achieved through interviews with the ambassadors and ethnographic observations during their lectures.
The value of this project lies in gaining deeper insights into the areas outlined in its purpose, to develop sustainable ambassadorship and health-promoting tools for mental health among youth.
The project forms a foundation for further research on ambassadors' narratives as tools for health promotion and stigma reduction, benefiting young people's understanding of mental health.
