TorTalk lets you listen to all text you can see on your computer screen. The text-to-speech application is now available for download for students and employees at the University of Skövde.
TorTalk is a text-to-speech application and very easy to use. It is extra suitable for people with dyslexia, ADHD or for those who prefer to listen instead of reading. The text-to-speech reads all text visible on your computer screen – both PDF files, scanned images and e-books – in 20 different languages. It does not read text within parenthesis, which means you will not have to listen to long book titles and other references often present in academic publications. It is also possible to adjust the reading speed to make TorTalk suit your particular needs.
